Weld seam detection during laser welding

Our solution for weld seam detection in laser welding, for monitoring the geometry of the weld seam directly during the process. The high-performance line laser scanner has a resolution of up to 1,024 points and thus provides the basis for detailed and reliable process control. The recorded measurement data is transferred to the PLC control system over a specially developed application, and then processed there.

Continuous monitoring ensures consistent quality of the weld seams.

The sensor can either be installed for stationary use or mounted on a robot that scans the weld seams along the component. This means maximum flexibility in the area of application.

This technology offers a wide range of possible uses for applications where precision and efficiency in the welding process are of central importance.

Automatic inline 3D measurement for large-volume items

Our inline 3D measuring system enables the automatic measurement of large-volume components up to a size of 700 x 700 x 700 mm. The process includes recording the reference characteristics in order to calculate the exact position for the RSP alignment, and comparing the measurement results with predefined tolerances.

The scanner operates at an accuracy of 9 µ, a scanning rate of 600,000 dots per second and a line width of 100 mm.

We achieve a system accuracy of 2-4 µ in the measuring range, and 1.5-3 µ for flatness measurement. Repeat accuracy is 125 µ.

Because of the inline integration, we guarantee 100% quality control in the production process.

Robotik mit individueller Greifertechnik

With our complete solution, we have achieved the fully automatic loading of injection moulding machines. The centrepiece of the system is a handling robot with double grippers, which can be relied upon even when handling very small parts.

The raw material is fed over reels, and after the punched parts have been separated, the injection moulding system is loaded by the handling robot. The double grippers ensure a high process speed and cycle time.

Because the feed unit, separation and placement are modular, this system can be customised for many applications, thus increasing the quality and productivity of the production process.

3D measurement for precise positioning and automation

As part of a research project for the aviation industry, we have developed a manual 3D measurement system for determining the position and dimensions of objects in space. The data is captured using a laser measuring head, which generates a point cloud and from this calculates the exact position of the object. The data obtained is transferred directly to a processing line to enable fully automated collection and further processing.

The measuring accuracy of the measuring head is 15 µ, and of the entire system 30 µ.

The aim of this project is to start the transition from manual to automated production. To date, 1,800 assemblies have been produced manually. With our system, we are involved in the conversion of the first eight assemblies to fully automated production.

This solution marks a decisive step towards increasing efficiency and optimising processes.
